Better education leads to a better life and in turn favors our community on the long run. However, it is often that we come across so many children who are limited from educational opportunities due to their economic conditions. HelpKids, an initiative founded by DevCare Solutions has been serving as a light of hope to the young ones out there. Founded on Dec 9th, 2009, HelpKids Trust is a registered Non-Profit Organization aimed at transforming lives of underprivileged young children by offering support towards their educational needs and opportunities. With an existence of over six years and counting, the program now covers over 75 schools across 13 districts of Tamil Nadu with over 750 school students and 150 college students being benefitted under the program.
We are ambitious in expanding our horizons to several geographies across Tamil Nadu that are either economically backward or/and account for a higher literacy rate. This way we believe that our initiative could help in educating children and thereby help bring about a change in the society we dwell in. In supporting this cause, we welcome people to actively participate in volunteering and contribute their share of grants to add purpose and bring about a change over these young lives. Rather as we like to put it across – You can be the change that you wish to see in this world!
Corporate Social Responsibility
Regardless of our HelpKids Trust initiative that supports Education to underprivileged children, we are also conscious of our social responsibility and support to the needy. Our participations from the recent past include:
One of the greatest disasters of the century must include the rain-struck floods in Chennai and Cuddalore, leading to an acute shortage of daily essentials. While volunteering and rescue works to the needy were underway from several organizations and government agencies, we stepped in as well. DevCare solutions organized a team of volunteers and visited the affected areas surrounding Cuddalore, Pondicherry and Chennai. Basic toiletries, Medicines, Food, Bed sheets and Clothes were distributed to about 563 families from the disaster-struck zones.
Arunodhayam, a home for the mentally challenged was identified by our team by late November 2015. Our CSR team visited the place and offered Medicines and General Provisions to its inhabitants.
Samarpana, Dazzling and Arunodhayam were three old age homes that were paid a visit by our CSR team. The occupants of these respective places were offered with bed sheets – the basic idea behind was that such sheets would give out adequate warmth from the cold weather at nights due to the onset of winter after the heavy downpour in Chennai. Further, as part of our 10th anniversary celebrations, we have decided to outsource a development project to a non-profit organization, completely free of cost. As far as the technology is concerned for this project development initiative, we intend to discuss with the benefiting organization and arrive at a mutual agreement.
